Wednesday Group

Have you ever wanted to learn to Knit - Crochet - Cross stitch (tapestry) - Needlepoint - or make a Patchwork Quilt?  Then come and join us at the Wednesday Group.  We meet together every Wednesday in the Parish Hall from 2 till 4pm.  Do come along and give it a try, even if you only want a chat and a cup of tea!!

Parish Finance Meeting

On Thursday 10th May at 7.30pm in the presbytery, there will be a Parish Finance meeting.

Parish Council Meeting

On Thursday 17th May at 8.00pm in the parish hall, there will be at Parish Council meeting. Any parishioners who wish to attend are welcome to do so.

CAFOD money boxes

If you have not yet returned your box to the church porch, please send your collected amount to the address on your box and mention ‘Lent’ to arrive before 17^th May. Thank you.

New Rotas

New rotas for Eucharistic Ministers, Readers and Servers are now on the Parish website.  They cover the months of May and June.

Catholic Questions

An Invitation to All Parishioners

On Wednesday 16th May at 6.00pm in the parish hall, a diocesan team will be here to answer any questions you may about matters of faith, moral issues, Catholic social teaching, etc. The team travels around throughout the diocese doing this work and all parishioners from Our Lady of Compassion are welcome to come along, make them welcome, and pick their brains. Wine and nibbles will be provided.

Paul Baker RIP

We are very sorry to announce the death of Paul Baker, our parish treasurer. We extend our sincere sympathy to his wife Liz and his son James. The funeral Mass will be at St Edmund's College, Ware, on Wednesday 9th May, but the body will be brought into Our Lady of Compassion Church on Tuesday 8th May at 5.15pm.

Pentecost Praise

To be held on the Common, Saturday 26th May at 2.30pm. Why not bring a picnic and enjoy the ambiance from 1.30pm? See poster in the porch for further details.

Parish Library

Our little library has had a Spring clean and there are now some new books which hopefully will suit all tastes. For those who enjoy the work of Michael O’Brien, his latest novel, ‘A Father’s Tale’, is now available.

St Vincent de Paul

The SVP will meet on Monday 30^th April at 8pm in the parish hall.
